What keeps the World turning?

Plant life provides endless patterns, interesting in shape and alive.

In Southern Saskatchewan, amid rich farm land, is a small town called Val Marie. Mid May 2004, after visiting friends in Billings Montana, I drove north into Canada. I was stranded for three days in Val Marie due to a late blizzard. Snow plows had already been put is storage for the summer, resulting in unplowed highways.

I ventured out in the snow to photograph isolated farms. The farming population was not here yet, so I had plenty of privacy wandering about.

Invented to perform a specific task.

The great Southwest of the United States is the most fascinating areas in the country. Its wind and water carved landscapes ascend skyward; its bounty of minerals create a deep palate of colors.
